what is an ancient civilization? and a city-state?

I need help on this question for social studies and i cant figure it out.

please help!! thanks!!

    Civilizations can be defined by five traits:

    1) advanced cities

    2) specialized workers

    3) complex institutions

    4) record keeping

    5) advanced technology

    For a civilization to be considered ancient, I personally think that it should be older or exist at the same time as a Classical age civilization...

    But "Ancient" really is a subjective term, so use your own judgement :)

    A city-state is a government and nation that is completely limited to a single city. For example, Vatican City and Monaco.

    An ancient civilization is a group of people or community from hundreds of years ago.

    A city state .... is hard to explain.
