Can Tim Thomas keep it up?

Are we looking at Vezina-winning Tim Thomas? What about Tuukka?

I think so. The guy is all heart. He's finally healthy, even said he feels better than the year he won the big V. That year, he had the same hip injury that he needed surgery on over the summer (obviously it wasn't AS bad at the time)

But Thomas is the man, first reliable goalie we've had in a LONG time.

Random question....your name, purple shamrock....is that a reference to that bar in Lowell?

He can if Tuukka helps him keep somewhat rested. Thomas was good last year too, he just didn't get much support from the rest of the team. Tuukka did out play him down the stretch but i think its important to note that the defense played tighter in front of Tuukka than Thomas last year b/c one was a rookie and the other was a Jennings and Vezina winner and they had a huge injury and goal scoring problem.

Tuukka's problem now is that after the playoffs where teams played him over and over fr a week and a half they got to build up a pretty good scouting report on him (he doesn't play tall, he can be beat high, he plays the puck carrier with a butterfly, prone to trying too hard. You can thank Danny Briere and Simon Gagne fr this dead nuts on scouting report of Rask.) The good thing about Thomas in this regard is that there really isn't a scouting report on him b/c he just does whatever to keep the puck out of the goal. Ovechkin said of him that, "I don't like playing against him b/c I don't know what he's gonna do and I think he doesn't know what he's gonna do and that's two guys that don't know what they are gonna do."

Overall down the road fr this year I think Tuukka will get it together (he's young and has time to adjust to the league and he has Thomas to help him out) and hopefully Thomas will stay healthy with Tuukka playing a game or so a week to lighten the load. This is prolly one of the top three goaltending tandems in the league.

Hes a good solid goalie and now that hes healthy he can play the style that got him his first Vezina. Doing it again though, guessing not. He'll be a solid goalie throughout the year, and guessing just about split time with Rask barring injury or either ones game totally falling apart. Guessing Rask will get his form from last year back with time and mentoring of Thomas.

I think he's an awesome goalie! I really hope he does well all year long, but between the both of them (Thomas and Rask), the Bruins are solid as far as goaltending goes.

he's always been a really good goalie. it wouldn't surprise me if he is a nominee or win's the Vezina. he might start to slouch a bit from a firey start but he'll still be above average for sure

He's absolutely solid and seems to be back on track. It isn't a bad thing that the Bruins have two legit number one goalies. They won't get tired out, and one of them could be used as trade bait at the deadline?

He's a great goalie, but nobody can keep up a .75 GAA over a full season. The lowest ever recorded was 1.5...

Hope not - I have Tuuka Rask in a few leagues!

he will slow down eventually and him and rask will split time

does not matter what he does in the regular season.....he is a proven non winner in the playoffs....and that is all that matters
