any good city/nation simulation pc games?
looking for some good games along the lines of Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Civilization, etc...

I really like Zeus: Master of Olympus.
More of a god game, build a city, conquer other city-states, make an independent city or thrive through trade, build temples to the gods and get their protection. You can also enlist Heroes and get them to go a fight with your army to conquer other cities or do raids to steal goods.
It quite good but you can't see the battles, it's more god sim and city management.

sim city used to be the best. until they shifted to being just "sims" w/c is really an even shallower take on human existence.
