Social workers telling parents to dump their disabled kids at homeless shelters when they can no longer care for them -- what is this world coming to?

    well, its either that or the kids dont get the medical care they need and could die. its like the safe haven law, its to keep the kids safe, at least at a homeless shelter the kids will be getting the medical care that they need. its not something i would ever do, but if they really cant afford to pay the medical bills and its either this or let the kids suffer and possibly die, i would choose the shelter.

    I read this earlier today and it had weighed on me all day. I do not have a disabled child but I do have a sister in law who is at one day we will be resonsible for. It makes me sick to think that someone would tell me to dump her in a homeless shelter rather than give me the obvious much needed help that goes into caring for a disabled child

    The world is scared of it's own problems that it wants to make others feel bad, a "URNEVERGONNATKEMEALIVEWITHOUTAFIGHT" sort of thing. Social workers are being corrupted by money and power, parents are being strained or corrupted, depending on what side of this disgusting scale we call wealth they are on.
