What kind of gun did the Scarecrow have in The Wizard of Oz?

It was a nice looking, matte-finished stainless revolver. Any ideas?

Are you sure it was stainless? I have been around almost every kind of stainless known and I can`t look at it in a movie and tell. Maybe brushed or bead blasted nickel could be mistaken for stainless. There is a stainless steel paint that comes in a spray can, but it, more than likely, wasn`t around in the original movie. Plating guns with chrome and nickel has been around for years.Hollywood can do anything just about.

I think I know what you are talking about. A couple years ago there was a take of on the old movie, in which the Scarecrow was some kind of super agent of some type trying to get the little girl to the wizard while being chased by the wicked witch.

He did carry a modern looking stainless gun of some type. I can not think of the name of the mini series, so can not help you with the gun.

Well that movie was made in 1939, so i'm sure some of these people can figure out who the most prominent gun manufacturer was "back in the day". I have no idea. I don't remember seeing any guns in that movie.
