Any ideas for how to prevent stretch marks while pregnant?

I know that it is genetic and that most people get them anyway but wonder what ways have people tried to prevent, decrease stretch marks while pregnant. There must be something that people swear by. I have heard coconut oil. Has anyone used that and did it help?

I am 5 months now and starting to feel itchy!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Stretch Mark Lotion :D

I'm six months pregnant and I noticed, wherever I haven't put the lotion... THATS where I get stretch marks. I have them on my chest now so I have to put the lotion there too. But, on my belly I have NONE :P Its reallly good stuff.

Bio -oil and drinking lots of water. Although all the pregnancy books say that if your mom got stretch marks your likely to get them too, and there is no real cream or oil that could prevent them or make them go away entirely. That being said im still rubbing bio-oil everyday so far no new strech marks. I do have old stretch marks but the oil unfortunately is not making them any better.

it does depend on the persons body (from what i heard) but i still put on cocoa butter! a lot of people use the cocoa butter lotion and still get them, but i used the really thick thick one in the jar twice a day and i didnt get one stretch mark! now it could just be my body? but it cant hurt to try it

also make sure you do NOT scratch! that will give your

    stretchmarks

also when you put it on do it when you can walk around with nothing on your belly bc i put tonnnss on lol..but hey i have 0 stretch marks now so thats what i would reccomend

they cant be prevented, im 37 weeks and i have a few small ones on my boobs.. i swear by bio oil you can get it at wal-mart or any drug store it fades them i have been using it for about 8 weeks now and the once red marks are hardly able to be seen.

if your itchy from getting them coco butter soothes them it wont prevent like some people swear by but it will help make you more comfortable

good luck i hope i have helped..

Sadly, I think stretch marks are inevitable :\ However you can try putting cocoa butter or body butter on your tummy frequently.

I used everything possible and still got them. It all depends on the elasticity of your skin and you can't change that with any product.

vitamin e oil, cocoa butter, bio- oil.

try it all, rub them in those places more prone to stretch marks. They do work, even if you eventually do get stretchmarks, they wont be as much or as pronounced as they would if you didnt use any lotion/oil

They're genetic - if you're prone to them nothing will prevent them

    Nope.

Nothing you can do if that is what your genes have in store for you.
