Is ist true that cephalopods and similar creatures cause damage to plants and how?

Do cephalopods and ordinary rainworms affect plants or plantgrowth and how do they affect ferns for instance, my garden now in fall has experienced aan increased number of cephalopods and also ferns turning brown and dying off, is this normal in fall, should I spray in spring with pyrethrine or not?
I have a shady very humid and wet garden in the Netherlands with little light, windy sometimes and 
dark, that is why I planted ferns and indigenous plants so as to keep it green. I also compost a lot and due to that I have a lot of rainworms,and small insects even ants and white flies altough the latter do not seem to colonize my ferns, what is eating them?

If you mean earth worms by rain worms 
They are good for any soil 
Gastropods or snails will eat your plants
And yes ferns die back in winter and reappear

I suspect you mean gastropods (cephalopods are octopods and their kin). Gastropods have mouths with rasping teeth known as radulae which are used to scrape away at plant tissue. The actual damage may be limited but the wounds will allow attack by other organisms such as microbes. Disease is thus introduced sometimes leading to the death of a plant - and ferns are not immune from attack.

I cannot find rainworm in a dictionary. If by this you mean earthworm, I know of no cases where earthworms cause direct damage to living plant tissues.

Its the courts that are freaking lazy. They for starters say that the fool and his cronies have the right to free speech, but at the same time they are taking away peoples rights to privacy. The even more disgusting fact is that Phelps family are nearly all lawyers and attorneys, so fighting them legally is hard as nails. All those legal beagles and yet they can't interpret the true meaning of being a Christian OR EVEN know how to help others NOT sin. Hate only causes more hate. My pastor was able to help save more of the gay community through LOVE and COMPASSION then that old fool, Phelps, and his neo-nazi church clan. The Wesbro Church and our courts are indeed The-Living-Fail and the reason America is going to pots. Life Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness does not mean that people have the right to disrupt others pursuit. Many people do not get that. One of the many reasons I'm leaning closer to being a Misanthrope.
