why do so many christians confuse regeneration and salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit?

regeneration : from the greek palingenesia : to go back to genesis or by implication to that NATURE which God created in Adam when he was first created (his genesis) Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. BODY SOUL AND HUMAN SPIRIT, this is our "nature" as God created us. A unregenerate man is reprobate and his spirit is " dead in trespasses and sins" cut off from god by sin he is called spiritually dead, where as we are "quickened and made spiritually alive by regeneration the "rebirth" of our human spirit BY the Holy Spirit: Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. The fact is that the INDWELLING of the Holy Spirit is NOT the rebirth of the human spirit, and that neither of these concepts is "salvation" proper ... is evidently manifest because salvation is about being saved from hell to heaven with God for eternity. When Adam sinned he died spiritual ( cut off) to god and regeneration is a literal rebirth of the human spirit. Hence: RE generation: Strong's concordance defined this term as spiritual renovation or rebirth : literally or figuratively. SO< why ARE so many christians unable to rightly divide these concepts?

Update:

crybaby go wet your diapers elsewhere, you're a numbers twinkie just looking to add to your overal stats. beat it.

Update 2:

same to you kahki do do

Update 3:

d meadows the connect between water baptism and God's regeneration of our human spirit is tied NOT to John 3:5 but to col 2: 10-13 and rom 6: 3-6 Jesus's reply in john 3:5 is a reply to Nicodemous's question about physical birth as a jewish idiom for it and also being born into the linage of Abraham . As such, it is only very deeply and subtly related to spirit rebirth which makes us of the family of God, Rom chapter 8, and also of the children of the promise and children of Abraham ( faith). all effects of spirit rebirth. So you are wrong on all counts.

Update 4:

and d meadows acts chapter 8: 15-17 and chapter 10 44-47 tells us that MANY people were filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit after jesus and BY the Apostles. i do not know what bible you read but the laying on of hands for the recieveing of the Holy Spirit seems plain enough to me lol.

Update 5:

Carm Deo, while i agree with virtualy everything you said, i must remind you that the rebirth of our human spirit is tied in col 2:10-13 and rom 6: 3-6 to water baptism as where and when God chose to do this to us. Now the thief on the cross was never baptised and so was never regenerated. The spiritual status of our human spirit is not relevant to the saving of our souls. See Eccl 12: 7. All mens spirits return to God who gave it at their death. we are souls that have a spirit but Jesus died to save YOU the SOUL. 1 peter 1:9 Thank you for your reply which was encouraging and enlightening.

Update 6:

NO marj as i stated repeatedly amny times : they are NOT the same thing. they are entirely different concepts

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not about salvation but about being filled with the anointing of God's Holy Spirit for service and evangelizing and the outworking of the gifts of the Spirit.

In John 3:6-7 Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit, You should not be surprised at my saying, You must be born again."

Every Christian is "born again," and is redeemed, regenerated, justified and sanctified, is being sanctified and will be finally and eternally sanctified and glorified. We all have God's promise (down payment/deposit) of the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit, that has been true since the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on all believers. However, we are told to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 5:18) and also to continue being filled - this does not refer to the Holy Spirit leaving us and the loss of salvation but to drawing close to God and receiving fresh infilling of His anointing for the outworking of our gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling us.

Edit: There is quite a lot of teaching in the NT about the gifts of the Spirit and especially in 1 Corinthians 12-13. The correct interpretation of 1 Cor. 13:8-13, is that when the perfect comes refers to when Jesus returns - now we see dimly as in a mirror, but then face to face. The OT in several places uses the term "face to face" as seeing God personally, not fully or exhaustively, but fully nonetheless. Our greatest joy will be seeing Jesus face to face and so we will no longer need the imperfect gifts of prophecy etc because we will be with Him, that is why love is the greatest gift!

John 3:6; Flesh won't be able to be made into spirit - a individual could journey a spiritual rebirth [v7], you may born returned: you may via faith settle for Christ's sacrifice on Calvary's struggle by using His dying, burial, and resurrection for the remission of their sins. without the confession of ones sins there is not any forgiveness. [Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9'. Lifeshare: Regeneration, refers back to the recent delivery John 3:3-7; 2 Corinthians 5:17; it is the Holy Spirit who regenerates [ v6; Titus 3:5] In John 3:5 the water is symbolic of the recognize God [Eph. 5:26; 1Peter one million:23]

Regeneration refers to the new birth [John 3:3-7; 2 Corinthians 5:17]

Two things are often confused with regeneration 1 of these is water baptism, this misunderstanding grows out of a wrong interpretation of John 3:5, the error is in making water the means of regeneration instead of recognizing that it is the Holy Spirit who regenerates [v6, Titus 3:5].

Salvation: In its limited sense, it speaks of the deliverance of the soul from eternal death and the possession of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ [Romans 6:23].

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit: was a promise of Jesus to the disciples [Acts 1:5]

The baptism of the Holy Spirit was a promise of Jesus to His disciples, and no one was commanded to be baptized in the Holy Spirit under the disciples /apostles preaching.

    Lifeshare:

Regeneration, refers to the restoration of all things at the second coming of Christ; <Matt.19:28; And in Titus 3:5, it refers to the new birth through the Holy Spirit. The same idea is conveyed in John 3:3; 1 Peter 1:23.

Water baptism is a proclaiming ordinance rather than a procuring one. Baptism does not obtain or contribute toward salvation [see Ephesians 2:8-9]; rather, it is the declaration of ones acceptance of Jesus Christ as Saviour.

So, having said ALL that, do you agree that regeneration and salvation or born again are all the same thing? Some say born again and saved are the same. With me, it was two different things, but I don't argue about it. Guess it had to be in two stages for me.

Well, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is something beyond salvation. Some people get this mixed up and say this is what happens when we get saved, but they have it wrong. The evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking (or praying actually) in tongues, or this is what the Pentecostals teach. However, others say that we don't necessarily get the tongues at that time but we DO get a gift at that time and tongues can come later, which it did with me. So that was in two packages for me also. Now, I know there are many opinions and interpretations, but I am settled in what I believe and won't argue about it, but if someone sincerely wants to know something, I'll tell them.
