You can dry clothes outside no matter what the temperature is.

If the temperature is below freezing, it will take longer for the clothes to dry, but they still will dry.

    Dry Clothes Outside

I think @ 45 they should dry. But experiment to find out for yourself. My mother who will soon be 90 could answer this question but when I called her to ask her in her senior's home she was out of her room visiting with friends no doubt.

She hung all her clothes outside to dry.....even in winter....but I think the temperature had to be above freezing because I did she her sometimes bringing frozen clothes into the house to dry further....that's when the temperature suddenly went down.

My Mom also had a clothes dryer in the basement that her daughters bought for her...but she preferred to hand clothes outside to save on energy...and she liked the smell of the clothes afterwards. She did this until she was 86 and moved into an assisted seniors living home. Now she has everything done for her and she loves it.

40 degrees or warmer, and clothes will dry outside by dark when hung in the morning.

yours could possibly be dry by dark...if they aren't, i'd hang them on the backs of chairs in the kitchen overnight.

it depends on the wind as well as anything. clothing hung out at 40

degrees with ten mph wind may freeze due to evaporation which causes cooling. i frequently will hang my clothes out in the early evening and if it is fairly warm the next day they will be dry- when they are dry.

if you are on a very tight schedule and schedule your life around whether your clothes are dry yet, you might want to buy a clothes dryer machine.

    warmth is in the dryer

what is your humidity? the lower your humidity - the faster they will dry!
