Big East football expansion?
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nca...
Long story short, the Big East is planning to expand to 10 teams in football. One of those teams looks to be Villanova (moving them up from FCS). Who's the most logical and/or likely second team?

Well, ESPN said the Big East ADs met to discuss TCU, UCF, Houston and Temple. I am not sure Villanova will be the first team. Teams that move to the FBS have to meet certain requirements, and Villanova would probably have a hard time meeting those by 2012. Same with Appalachian State, who is looking into moving up to the FBS and would be very logical for the Big East at some point. That's why current FBS teams are the most likely, and I think it will probably be TCU and Temple. TCU's fine, but they are not logical from a geographic standpoint as far as fan following and traveling to play. Otherwise, it's win-win for the Big East and TCU--TCU gets to play for the national title however long they go undefeated and keep Patterson as the coach, and the Big East gets expansion into a big Southern market as well as a very competitive team. I see Temple because they used to be in the Big East and they are currently having success in the MAC. I think they should be looking at ECU, as well--probably more so than Temple, because Temple obviously didn't work out in the Big East before.

Wolverine, you moron. The Big East asked Villanova to join in August. Villanova already meets all the FBS requirements. Get informed before you act like you're a know-it-all and embarrass yourself.

The Big East should disband where it comes to football, they should stick to basketball!
