Buying $450 Desktop¿?
I am thinking of getting a new desktop soon. I already have a monitor and mouse, etc. So I don't need those. I want to use it for gaming so I need it to have a decent graphics card, but idk about the other things such as processor. I don't mind getting pieces and pluggin things in, but I don't have antistatic supplies. I guess I want windows and wireless card, but I don't really need any extra programs like office. What would be a quality computer at about this price range?
As for the games, I have starcraft 2 already so it would be nice to play that with high settings, and if FPS games would run that would be nice too.

For that price, you'll have to build it yourself. You don't need antistatic wristbands or anything, I've been building PCs for years, and I've never had any trouble, just make sure you touch the case to ground yourself before handling any parts. I'm not sure at exact prices, but this should run you less than $450.
CPU: Go for an i3 540, it's only about $20 more than the 530, and it's ever so slightly faster and easier to overclock. Buy the best mobo you can afford, it's easier to replace parts than a motherboard. But remember you've also got to spread the cost for RAM, as you'll need to buy at least 2GB of DDR3. Hopefully you can repurpose the case, PSU and drives from your current machine to keep the cost down, but you may need to buy adapters for your PSU if your motherboard has an 8-pin ATX connector. A Radepm HD 4670 will play most things on medium-high, shouldn't struggle with high on Starcraft..
If you're a student you can get Windows 7 through the Ultimate Steal for fairly cheap, otherwise pirate it. Get 64-bit if you've bought 4GB of Ram.

in case you acquire an easily real replica of retail abode windows with a key (doubt you probably did) then it grow to be a reliable deal. If no longer then EH its no longer undesirable or reliable. a sparkling third era 3.3GHz i3 is $ninety 9 a motherboard is $50 ram is $20 or much less, the pics card is in all probability well worth $10 (its very very previous) you do no longer want a video card with that chip because it has onboard pics. A 1TB hd is ~80-one hundred a burner is $20 or much less, an inner card reader is $10 yet has free of charge, a case with a PSU is $40-50. A retail replica of Win7 is over $one hundred. Retail ability that once it comes time for a sparkling workstation you have got the potential to change on it on the hot workstation purely bye calling a a million-800 huge type and that it comes with 32 and sixty 4 bit installs. i've got confidence that OEM isn't transferable to a sparkling workstation. Are those all new aspects? needless to say the video card isn't yet what approximately the different stuff? It has a value of being geared up in case you won't be able to try this your self. a keep might cost you to place it mutually a acceptance type workstation expenditures extra. the biggest's you have geared up this your self for $350 with a third era i3 with onboard pics yet that's with no real retail Win7 license.
