What type of components will not function correctly if I use XP for a while before installing Windows 7?

I want to build a new desktop but I want to spend more on motherboard and ram and gpu than software, but is it moot because having XP won't let it work properly?

Update:

Will it work with the motherboard, cpu, and gpu.

Your question makes no sense to me. What will Xp not allow to work properly?

Yes it will run Windows Xp.

Edit. If you buy a motherboard it will come with a disc which will contain your drivers for all integrated components. If your graphics or other component is a card it will also come with a disc. If it doesn't then don't buy it. All reputable companies provide the disc for the drivers of their components.

    ill put it simply.

first of all buy the fastest, most powerful hardware you can afford. its called "future-proofing" so your not COMPLETELY obsolete when you can finally afford windows 7

in the meantime, windows XP will work FINE, you will have to go online and download drivers for your video card and chipset, but you will be doing the same thing with windows 7 anyways.

have fun with your new PC

btw torrents are your friend. :D never BUY an OS!!!!!!!
