Which OS should I choose?
I am thinking windows because most programs will easily work, but I don't know the difference between 32bit XP, 64 bit XP, 32 bit windows 7, and 64 bit windows 7? I want to know which is best for games, and alternatively which is better for multitasking.

dont go with ANYTHING less than windows 7 64 bit, it runs all 32 bit applications just fine, except for some extremely old programs. and if your trying to run those old programs, you shouldnt be on windows 7 as it is.
make sure your cpu supports 64 bit. dont use anything less than a 2.0GHz core 2 duo or 2.2GHz athlon 64 x2.
and as long as your getting 64 bit, stick to a minimum of 4 GB of RAM. its a world of difference, and is the BIGGEST, and pretty much best and only reason to choose 64 bit over 32.

OS that you need to install depends upon the configuration os your computer i.e. the hardware.
1. What version of windows to install depends upon what hardware are you using. i.e. the processor type, the mother board and the amount of RAM.
2. Windows 7 32 or 64 bit will depend upon the hardware type i.e whether your hardware supports 64 bit version of or not.
3. So specify your hardware details and we will give you the best OS compatible with your hardware

and i guess being spied on, allowing a bunch of patsies to change the software on your computer without your permission, etc. doesn't matter at all. go with windows 7, i hear it has the most spyware and 'support' to date.

See, If your are a Gaming Freak and want to play just 3D games.
Get a XP.
It is even good for your multitasking. But If your are looking for features,i would prefer you a Windows & but all games won't work on it.
Ultimately,its your choice.
