Former President George W. Bush Guilty of War Crimes?

In his soon to be release memoirs President Bush admits to giving the go-ahead to water-board. Since this is in violation of the Geneva Convention, should he be brought up on War Crime charges?

Being that the eyes of justice in this country is supposed to be blind. Should it make any difference who can be tried for a crime. If President Barrack Obama was to admit that he gave the ok for water-boarding. Shouldn't the eyes of justice be blind to the fact he is president of the United States.

While there will always be policy differences between the left and right. When an act is perpetrated and condoned by someone in a place of authority or perceived authority. Shouldn't the law apply equally, to every person in this country?

Update:

Smartass... - I think anyone that has been waterboarded would disagree with you. Have yourself water-boarded and video it. I seem to recall a radio host called mancow being waterboarded. Afterwards he said it's definitely torture.

Update 2:

Dr Phil - your point is well taken.

Update 3:

majgros - So I take it that water-boarding is not a war crime? Or is the application of it in this circumstance justified?

Update 4:

Neil J - neither like I stated anyone found guilty of a crime should be held accountable.

Fortunately you know less about the GC than you do about law or torture. None of what you have said is correct except that all should be treated equally.

Water boarding is not torture whether the Geneva Convention says it is or not. For crying out loud! All it is is putting a towel over a persons face when they are lying down and pouring some water on it! The person feels like they are drowning but they are not in pain and not injured in any way.

We have to start looking at priorities. Killing a person in battle is not considered torture or a war crime. I would much rather be water boarded than killed. The only time anyone was water boarded was to get information to save people's lives! You shouldn't believe all that Liberal nonsense that they teach in school these days. I'm not trying to offend you if you are a Liberal but you have to look at this clearly. The idea that water boarding is torture is nonsense and to call it that is to betray every man who was tortured by the Germans and the Japanese during WW2. Those people were really tortured!

But doesn't the Geneva convention state a soldier not in uniform can be treated as a spy? Which would allow execution? Are you deeply concerned about Muslims rights, or just taking a jab at Bush?

The convention also requires combatants to identify themselves by uniform.

Those that do not are SPIES or saboteurs and not covered by said convention soooooo since by your logic justice is blind and all must comply then since the terrorists don't adhere to the rules they have fore fit their convention rights.

Why don't you go ask Nick Berg if he would have rathe been water boarded oh yea you can't ask him because they cut his head off on the internet for effect.

Pretty much every single US president from the early 20th century up until now is guilty of war crimes.

However, who's going to do anything about it when we are the judge, jury and executioner around the world?
