  • Who made this statement about the left?

Leftists tend to hate anything that has an image of being strong, good and successful. They hate America, they hate Western civilization, they hate white males, they hate rationality. The reasons that leftists give for hating the West, etc. clearly do not correspond with their real motives. They say they hate the West because it is warlike, imperialistic, sexist, ethnocentric and so forth, but where these same faults appear in socialist countries or in primitive cultures, the leftist finds excuses for them, or at best he grudgingly admits that they exist; whereas he enthusiastically points out (and often greatly exaggerates) these faults where they appear in Western civilization. Thus it is clear that these faults are not the leftist's real motive for hating America and the West. He hates America and the West because they are strong and successful

  • Former President George W. Bush Guilty of War Crimes?

In his soon to be release memoirs President Bush admits to giving the go-ahead to water-board. Since this is in violation of the Geneva Convention, should he be brought up on War Crime charges?

Being that the eyes of justice in this country is supposed to be blind. Should it make any difference who can be tried for a crime. If President Barrack Obama was to admit that he gave the ok for water-boarding. Shouldn't the eyes of justice be blind to the fact he is president of the United States.

While there will always be policy differences between the left and right. When an act is perpetrated and condoned by someone in a place of authority or perceived authority. Shouldn't the law apply equally, to every person in this country?

  • Lowering taxes and ending regulation will create jobs right?

the rhetoric that companies are scared to hire because of "possible" tax raises on the top 2%. And are unsure of new regulations by the Obama admin.

First personal income tax levels do not effect taxes paid by the company. They may effect the company management but never the company itself. There are numerous write-offs available to companies that lower their taxes even more. My parents own a small business that grosses over $250k per year. Last year their total tax bill including Federal, State and Local taxes was less than $3,000.

Companies are not hiring because there is no need to hire. Most companies have reduced their workforce or kept it the same. While at the same time keeping output the same and in most cases the output has risen.

  • Cutting taxes, Reduced spending, Balancing the budget..?

How will these three things drive job growth? Considering that companies number one concern is profit. Why would any company hire new people, it seems most companies are still trying to reduce head count.

  • Repeal Obama-care...and replace with this..?

I propose appealing Obama-Care and replacing it with this...

Everyone pays 10% of their gross personal earnings. For small businesses this would be the amount after deductions for business expenses. The company you work for would then contract with a health insurance provider for coverage. Small businesses would be allowed to join together.

Coverage would be for any doctor, medical facility, and treatment. Insurance companies would have to negotiate with doctors and hospitals as to fees. The amount left over would be the insurance companies profits.

those on unemployment would be covered for one year by their previous employer. Unless the employer can show cause for dismissal.

Of the 10% withheld from workers 7% would go to the insurance industry. 3% would go into a fund to pay for those who are not working.

Companies would pay employees the amount they now claim as paying for employees health care coverage. For instance most employers claim paying on average $1,000 per month for a single employee.

  • Republican plan to end over-time pay....?

The wife just found out from a friend who attends the same MBA program. This friend works for a U.S. Congressman who I will not name. At present a company can only pay salary only under certain circumstances. Republicans plan to pass a new law stating that a company can pay salary to any employee so long as the total wages does not go below minimum wage.

If this passes your employer will be able to work you 80 hours per week and only have to pay about $600. Where now they would have to pay about $750.

While overtime pay will not actually end, employers will be able to place any employee on salary.

  • Are there two types of Republicans (Conservatives)?

I have come to the conclusion there is the Rich Conservatives that use their money and influence to enact or oppose legislation that is to their benefit. And they really have no concern on the effects to everyone else.

then there are the middle and lower class conservatives that support the republican party on the platform of no abortion, lower taxes, and smaller government. Getting their economic information from druggies like Rush limbaugh and Alcoholics like Glen Beck.

  • Since conservatives oppose the health-care bill...?

It is my sincere wish that the republicans get enough seats to repeal the bill. Then I hope every employer stop providing employees coverage. Then when everyone has the choice of paying about $2,000 per month for a family of three, or a $1,000 for a single person.

Will this make you happy too, just think how much more profitable companies could be if they didn't offer employees health benefits.

  • Do republicans have the answers to fix things?

In always keeping an open mind I have read where both parties stand on the issues. Now looking beyond the smoke and mirrors that comes with elections. I keep hearing people don't like the democratic policies. Yet most people have no clue as to the policies. Just like everyone else I want things to get better in this country. Although I have enough intelligence to realize turning things around takes time. Our government has failed in many ways over the last 30 years, mistake have been made by both parties.

  • Should shareholders vote on executive compensation?

should the Government pass a law requiring corporations to publish executive compensation. Then let shareholders vote by registered mail, in person, or a secure online site. Since shareholders are the owners of the company.

  • Outsourcing increases profit, how do we make it unprofitable?

The fact remains we are in a global economy, and need to sell our products overseas. The average worker in china can little afford goods produced in the U.S. Companies wanting to sell their goods in China, can only do so by producing the product in China, or someplace with even lower costs of production.

Would placing tariffs on the goods of corporations based in the U.S. fix this problem?

Since some corporations have chosen to incorporate in places such as the Bahamas should we also place tariffs on their goods and services since they are not paying corporate taxes. Yet they benefit from the U.S. consumer market?

  • When saying the union forced a company overseas?

Many have the picture of high paid autoworkers demanding a wage most people would find fantastic. However how would you account for workers making t-shirts at minimum wage having their jobs shipped to mexico. Then to China when the companies found production costs to be even less.

Everything I have read from the republicans seems very vague. Can anyone give me specifics to how Republican are going to reduce the deficit, create jobs, and keep health-care cost under control.

Which specific programs and entitlements should be cut?

How can you create and keep jobs here when outsourcing is more profitable to companies?

  • Do people cling to religion for answers?

To as how we got here, and what happens when we die. Consider that evolution is accurate and when you die there is nothing. These two items seems to be at the heart of religion. They answer the two biggest questions that we face. The thought of dying and there being nothing after death, takes away the idea that one day we can join are loved ones in a place that knows neither sickness or death.

It seems we all have these questions and religion answers them.
