How to deal with a leak from the bathroom?
A couple of weeks ago, my shower drain was clogged and there was water leaking from the floor outside the bathroom. i called the plumber to fix it. The water wasn't leaking when he came over and he didn't think it a serious problem since the floor dried out. After that, the leaking problem didn't go away, it does not flood all over the place but still a nuisance to clean up the floor every time I get out of the shower. I called the caretaker and he said he would have to check the pipes after the contract is over ( I live in a student apartment). I will be moving out in January, is there anything I could do to prevent it from getting worse? They are not going to charge me but I don't wanna anything more serious coming up in the last two months.
I have reported it to the caretaker and it won't cost me anything according to the contract. He simply checked and said it wasn't that serious and we could wait till my contract is over. Since i am still staying here, fixing the problem will not be convenient.

Fallen, It may be a nuisance but, the important thing is that you reported it. It's not your responsibility. It's a maintenance problem and the owner is responsible for the maintenance & upkeep of the building. This is not something that they can try to get you to pay for. But just to cover your butt, keep mentioning it to the caretaker so they don't forget and the problem gets worse. This is something that they should want to take care of before it gets worse and causes more damage.

Arg bathroom leaks can be so frustrating! They can also cause your bathroom floors and tile to be 'eaten up' from the constant wetness. One thing you may need to consider in the near future for structural reasons as well as protection for underlying molds and mildews may be bathroom remodeling. It may be good to ask an expert at http://www.olympiancares.com/brooklyn-manhattan-ba... as soon as possible about what you may need to have renovated to protect your families health.

I agree with everything Mark said. If you want to pour some drain cleaner down the drain in the mean time, this always helps for my drains.
