Apart from clotting, is there anything else that closes the skin from bleeding ?

For taking blood sample, we use to put a small pin on the index or middle finger, we pump few drops of blood. After that, it immediately closes. But I read somewhere that human body has lot pressure to pump blood out. Why is blood not coming out of that small hole. Ideally, it should rush out like a fountain isn't it ?

Because the platelets rushed there clot the blood in that area and seal the puncture that was made to that area so that the body does not lose blood (excess or considerable amounts) thus preventing/stopping bleeding. It's the body's natural defense mechanism

No, unless you close the wound yourself and wait for it to heal, which really is the clotting process
