People get hung up on a few details and miss the main point of what the Zeitgeist movie is all about:

    1) Part 1 - Religion : Religious people take great offence to the theories described in the part, but the main point is that for as long as humanity has had religion, it has been used to manipulate people. Why? For countless reasons. Once one believes blindly in faith, they allow themselves to become targets for manipulation.

    2) Part 2 - 9/11 Inside Job : People have been arguing both sides for many years: the official explanation of what happened versus people's theories. The point is that media manipulated people using fear and uncertainty to blindly believe what was being reported. The fear being portrayed in the media of threats from terrorists was so strong, people literally gave up many rights that were fought for by their fore-fathers, despite you having a much greater chance of being killed in countless other more common ways than death by terrorist attack. It's not important if the attack was from terrorists or not. The point is that event has been used re-shape the country and the world using media.

    3) Part 3 - Government and Corporate Propaganda : History is brimming with examples of the masses being manipulated with cleverly made and cleverly timed media. This way, the masses are not told what to do by governments and corporations. That would be wrong and people would take offence and not do it. Instead, media is used to manipulate the masses into doing what the governments and corporations want them to do. The masses think they are acting of their own free will, but they were often cleverly led along the path to the decisions that they were meant to make. This part of the movie has plenty of examples of this.

2007's Zeitgeist ruffled a lot of feathers because it was perceived to be a documentary. Peter Joseph, the creator of the Zeitgeist movie, is a musician and an artist. Zeitgeist was meant as a form of artwork for Peter, providing examples of how easily humanity is misled. If one argues about the details and rejects the whole movie because they personally disagree with the theories presented, then one is missing the point of the movie.

I recommend 2008's Zeitgeist Addendum even more:

The first two parts of Addendum are again about manipulation of the masses, but the final two parts present a "solution" to the world's problems. The solution is radical, but compelling, and certainly worth the 2 hours to see.

you know how emo kids usually dress up in all black because they want to be noticed? well this is the exact same concept. it takes the viewpoints of those who think they are always right and combines it with opinions and outdated facts.

Here is what really pissed me off about this movie

    1. Religion - religion is used to bind people of a common interest, and if you dont believe in anything, then you are by default atheist. by that i mean you dont believe in god or the devil, or anything of that matter. what these people do is try to disprove religion, which isnt what atheists do, so really these people are more of scientologists or whatever its called. basically like i said they just want attention

    2. 9/11 - thats a touchy subject which they really had no right to go into, if for some reason the government did do this to ourselves (which i dont believe for a second btw) people died on 9/11, so why even bring it up, your not going to get a medal for proving anything, which you wont anyway, tell me something why would people of foreign countries agree to lose their lives and become a liability for the worst event in american history for absolutely no reason. they never denied it or anything so its not like we are blackmailing. their "evidence" is hearing too many explosions. DEAR RETARDS THAT ARE CONNECTED TO ZEITGEIST, THINGS CAN BLOW UP YOU IDIOTS, THERE ARE MANY EXPLODABLE PARTS OF A PLANE NOT TO MENTION GENERATORS AND WHATNOT IN THE BUILDINGS, ITS NOT 2 EXPLOSIONS THEN DONE, ITS MULTIPLE, AND THEN YOU CITE PEOPLE SAYING THEY HEARD GUNSHOTS, TELL ME SOMETHING, WHEN BUILDINGS ARE EXPLODING IN FRONT OF YOU AND MAYHEM IS HAPPENING HOW IS A BUSINESSMAN OR ANY OTHER COMMON CITIZEN GOING TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN EXPLOSION AND A GUNSHOT

i normally dont do that but their stupidity is really that bad

    to sum this up

they are idiots who are attentionwhores

Zeitgeist has been debunked so many times it's boring. It's stupid, inaccurate and a waste of time.

It is true that the old Canaanite religion was an influence on the Abrahamic faiths, and remnants of it still persist in the modern-day Bible, despite millennia of editing.

It's pretty lame. It argues exactly the way fundies do. We don't need that.
