in near to sub-zero temperatures why does your tongue stick to a metallic object?

Im serious. Though it has never happened to me I am led to believe it has happened to others. I'm sure it has something to do with sudden temperature changes but would love to know the scientific explanation. While I am at it would a fillet of chicken at body temperature do the same? If not, why?

Thanks in advance for all answers and a rude finger gesture to those who choose to abuse...
