Can you recommend some non-superhero graphic novels for a 9-yr-old boy?

My son is 9 and in grade 4. I'd like some suggestions for graphic novels that he might enjoy. Just no superheroes, because we have lots of those.

Some info about his likes/dislikes:

Preferred genres (in this order): adventure, humour, fantasy, mystery, action.

Stuff he loves: the Bone series (he has all of them, incl. prequels etc.), Ranma 1/2 anime (for the silly humour), Diary of a Wimpy Kid (ditto on the humour), Star Wars, Transformers (80s cartoon), Narnia.

And that's about it. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. But no manga please--he likes colour. :)

Oh, thank goodness. i presumed i replaced into dealing with yet another great-hero hater. besides, i do no longer examine lots different than great hero comics. regardless of the shown fact that, I advise while he's older (around 18) get "Watchmen" for him. I say while he's older because of the fact it has person components and is rather heavy on the psychological area. It demands an exceptionally knowledgeable suggestions to appreciate. additionally, that's desperate in an extremely sensible worldwide. It is going far to make the heroes accepted people who dressed up with little to no good motives.
