What is your opinion on this?

My brother recently passed away unexpectedly, he was on his way to work when he suffered a cardiac arrest and died, we lived together still as we had a joint mortgage together with our parents, the morning he went to work I said see you soon and then quickly added I Love You which I have never ever said before, I did the same to my grandad five years ago just the day before he died, my question is do you think that subconsciously I knew I would never see them again and said this so that that they knew I did love them or do you have anothe explanation for this?

While premonitions have no scientific explanation at this time that I'm aware of, neither are they beyond the realm of possibilities, or uncommon (among anecdotal accounts). It might have been a premonition in your case. I too had a dream in which I was saying good bye to a close relative, that day came and went just as in the dream. And I'm genuinely sorry for your loss, though you are more fortunate for having at least had the instinct to express your affection, an opportunity many people never have. Regards, Pat.

There is absolutely no scientific reason why this could possibly have any significance, and the fats are not impressive enough to have any possible sort of meaning.

    1. They took place five years apart.

    2. Your grandad is statisically likely to be nearer the end of his life than your brother.

    3. The circumstances and time difference that each event took place are different and therefore not comparable.

If you think there is significance, you should tell 10 random people in one day that you love them and note how many of them die within a week. This is a controlled test. The results you will find are much lower even than the probability of a lucky guess (or in this case, an unlucky guess).

It is not indicative of predictive ability and there is no way it could either be explained in any scientific way or have any meaning even if you did. Ultimately it comes down to a question of belief - if you believe you either had special knowledge or priveleged power (and possibly still do), then that is your choice, though I would be wary of the consequences of how it may impact your life - are you going to be afraid to tell people you love them in case you're cursing them or predicting their demise?

I do not wish to make you feel uncomfortable, and I am sorry for your loss, but really, these are completely unremarkable events (to an observer of the meaning of these events) though naturally they remain important moments in your personal life, though I wouldn't take them seriously if it's going to affect how you interact with loved ones.

That's very strange because when I wish my favourite football team good luck in they game the complete opposite happens and they loose, but I know what you are getting at really, interesting question though.

Even though you can not know whats next, that is a hell of coincidence!

Never say I love you again when someone is leaving and you will have your mind relaxed!
