I have a question about why my cat acts this way?

My cat is white and she's a little over a year old now, but the last while she just wants to be held. (No biggy, as she went through a phase that she didn't want to curl up on me.) Anyways, she comes and sits on my arm and then lowers her head down into the crook of my arm. I am just curious why she does that. I do not think there is something wrong with her, it's just funny.

On the second thought, if you have any tips of getting rid of fleas on her, that would also be wonderful! I am jobless so money is super tight for us, so going to the vet right now is not an option. I do have a dog that he does go out on a cable but she does NOT go out. She is inside all the time. Thanks for the tips.

Update:

It could easily be she just wants attention! I had her since she was maybe 10 weeks old and at one point she'd lay on my husband and not me. But now, I don't really mind if she's on him, as she loves me too! I am the one that feeds her and cleans her litter box and all that! :)

Update 2:

She is completely white and she has two blue eyes. They are actually beautiful eyes! (To me anyways!) She seems to have excellent hearing though. Or so I think she does.

This position is probably just comforting to her. She feels safe and warm. My kitty does it too. :) Also if you have had her from very young, some cats will learn the smell of their owners so they tend to want to be close to the stinkiest parts of us (like arm pits).

Fleas can be tough to get rid of. Especially if your kitty is allowed outside where she can just pick up more.

    Indoor cats:

I recommend going down to petsmart or even walmart if it is cheaper and picking up some flea/tick shampoo. Make sure you pick one up that kills eggs as well!

Remove any sort of fabric in your house that kitty may have had access to and give it a go or two in the wash machine. *Vaccum all furniture and carpet really well (if you can afford it, i recommend getting flea dust or a fogger)

-fleas can live for several days to weeks in your carpet.

If you don't get rid of fleas in your house it wont matter how many times you bath kitty.

After this is done you can get a cheap flea collar at petsmart that will keep any lingering fleas off. (or if it is affordable I recommend Frontline.)

    Good luck!

Does your white cat have blue eyes or one blue eye? If it is completely white, there is a chance it could have some hearing loss, esp. if it just has one blue eye, the hearing loss would be on the same ear side as the blue eye. If it's not completely white, it's a non-issue but I was wondering with this different action, if she might have some hearing loss.

If you give your cat a flea bath and the dog comes indoors at all, it is most likely that the dog will have fleas as well. It would also be a good idea to give the dog a flea bath as well. Lemon juice in water can be a cheap flea killer and can be used repeatedly.

i think she just wants attention. i have a cat that used to not be fed very well so i took her in and now she just craves my attention-same with all the other cats i have everyonce in a while. if you bath your pet with dawn soap before you give her a bath leave it on there for a little bit but it'll kill the fleas.
