What do the French think of the Americans, and what do Americans think of the French?

In France I think we had nothing against the Americans untill recently, but since 2003 they hate us because we refused to follow them in their brillant and well-prepared strategy in Iraq (which is a good thing to be hated for, actually). All we see is their TV-show totally rude and xenophobic with us so we have a low opinon now. Also their support to islamization of Europe is not really exactly appreciaed; but for that I think this is more their government than their people. Iam sure there are a lot of good American people.

From what the media had fed us in the past, many americans were under the impression that (like most of europe) the french thought our political system was crap, but also (unlike much of europe) they hated the american people and their style of life. As for what I think of the french, I don't really care because they don't seem to have any impact on what happens in the world whatsoever

The French political, cultural, financial and civil service elites hate everyone, especially American culture, and they recently passed a law (understandably) about pop bands singing in American/English. I would imagine Americans think 'Ungrateful side-swapping Catholics, we helped to liberate their country on D-Day'. The French refused to sail their battleships to Britain before Hitler got them, so we sunk them, an incroyable but inevitable fait accompli.

French don't seem to be fond of us, but I like the French... I wish they 0wnt the British.
