Look for these words:
Tetanus ( Clostridium tetani)
Anthrax (Bacillus anthracis)
Both of these originate from the soil and are extremely dangerous =P

Soil bacteria serve various functions.
In the nitrogen cycle itself you can find many soil bacteria. It will be easier to find soil bacteria according to function. Also if you know the genus (eg. Rhizobium) then finding species (eg leguminosarum) isn't too hard.
Rhizobium leguminosarum (nitrogen fixing bacteria-converts atmospheric nitrogen to ammonia, symbiotic relationship with leguminous plants)
Nitrobacter sp. ( Nitrobacter vulgaris, converts nitrites to nitrates)
Some other genus are
Azotobacter sp.
Nitrosomonas sp.
Clostridium sp.
Frankia sp.
