So, you think you can do a better job in the White House?

The partisanship and thinly-disguised attack questions in the politics and government section of Y! Answers is blatant, so I'm just wondering: if you think you know how to run the country better then everyone else, how many of you could honestly go three days in the Oval Office without suffering a nervous breakdown?

Update:

Warren v: I am hardly a Bush-basher. I supported Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003.

I could. First off, I wouldn't listen to the bias media. Both sides. I was elected to do a job and I'm going to do it. The people trusted me to make the right decisions, so if I ran for president, I went into it knowing what was expected of me. Tough decisions come with the job. I wouldn't care about pleasing everybody. It won't ever happen. I'll make the decision based on what's best for the country. I also will show everybody what I stand for. Even if it means creating enemies. "If you have enemies, good. That means you stood up for something."-Winston Churchill. Also, the president is the C in C. That's his primary job. Congress handles the economy. If a bill comes across my table that I don't agree with, then I'll veto it. I may not be the most popular, but at least everybody will know what I stand for and what my beliefs are. Instead we have a president that tries playing to both sides causing flip flops. I may not agree with positions that presidents take, but if they take a side, I respect them for that.

One method could be to only take care of Government business and let the people handle the people's business.

Our state governments are our immediate helpers. We don't need the government, federal that is in education, welfare, health care, etc.

Protect our borders, make sure that our Constitution is upheld, collect our taxes for the running of government as stated. Don't invent "committees" or "departments"or entities that are not responsible to us...the employer.

Use the same health care and Social Security for Government workers and stop the incredible retirement payments for Congress.

We should not have to pay these people forever. When they leave they leave. Then at sixty 5,6,7,8

    they get Social Security.

Make sure laws arw written in English that can be understood.

Make English the official language that will save a bundle.

Then make the Tax Code Simple.....eliminate the IRS and let everybody know that the taxes are to be used for citizens, any other us requires approval except for war in the case of an attack.

In other words , Keep it simple....don't try to rule.

Let them travel like citizens, they are not ROYALTY, somebody tell Nancy .

I have never said I could do a better job than any president, one reason I have never run for office, I have never been a pro football player either. But using your standards, all criticism of the CIA, FBI, Police Departments etc is unjustified since you do not know all the facts and or have never done the job or might not be able to handle the job.

Any bets you were on the front lines condemning Bush at every turn, but NOW it is a problem.

Yes I could. I would have 3 main principals to start.

    1. Do what is best for the country, citizens & follow the Constitution. This would be the cornerstone on every decision I made.

    2. Bring jobs back to the US.

    3. Unite our citizens.

I would also have allot of meetings with congress so they knew that they had to work together and what my main objectives were. I would also have allot of Oval Office addresses with the citizens to unite our citizens.

I would not be able to do a better job then the current politicians. The only reason I might do better is I am a fiercely devout to being a non-ideological independent.

This means I would not owe any one anything because I would refuse financing from any one who wishes to take away my independence. This also means I would not be trying to use my power to push an ideological agenda, but will focus on doing just my job and do it well because I would only care about facts and what works, not beliefs.

I also would plan not to run for re-election. This would allow me to focus on getting results and be able do things that need to be done, done despite how unpopular those decisions may be.

NOT I but then again I didn't run for the job.. HELLO!

However I do think our government needs to be fixed...

First off the elected officials are suppose to be our voice...

So any bill passed or vetoed... should be posted for any individual in each state to see how their elected officials voted.... After all should we not know what Our voice is saying... and here is one... budget CUTS no more bottomless expense accounts and that includes the president! He needs to entertain... give them hamburgers... traditional american food..

    the list is endless

The budget needs to be cut starting with their SALARIES etc... for example we should not be paying for securty for Bush's Girls.... Daddy is rich enough let him pay for it...

    Just the way it is.

Welfare for the rich needs to stop especially for our elected officials.

    Yes I could.

All you have to do is have the courage to do the right thing. That is leadership. People will follow a leader. People will not follow a coward that watches polls that tell him how to act.

All of America's problems could be solved if we could just find a few real leaders.

No , I don't believe I could single handedly do a better job than an entire bureaucracy.

I do think I could do a better job than 0bama to use that bureaucracy to represent the wants and needs of the U.S. voter.

Yes I could do a better job.

The President has NO AUTHORITY to take over health care, tell corporations how to run and bailout other firms.

Being that I wouldn't do any of these things, and I would fight my hardest to rid the people of the tyrannical IRS and shrink the heck out of the government, I would do a job that is 3.5 million times better than Obama (One time for every job that Obama's economic stimulus is going to create).

Yes, I could do a much better job running the country & the white house. Most people who are not an enemy within working for enemies without couldn't miss on that.
