No, they weren't authors. They collected folk tales. The stories of The Brothers Grimm were collected traditional stories that the people told.

It's Brothers Grimm, and they were authors of fairy tales - ya know, Snow White, Cinderella. Use Google.

they wrote several short stories. they were originally meant for adults, but when they found out children were reading them, they modified their writing style a bit to match the audience. they wrote hansel and gretel, snow white, repunzel, and cinderella. (no, it wasnt disney) hope i helped! :)
