Should go into a PCI Exp. 2.0 slot on your motherboard (assuming you have one), but you will need a new power supply.
Get something with at least 500W (headroom for future upgrades). The best PSU's are made by Corsair, Seasonic, Antec, and Thermaltake. Don't buy a cheap and nasty, it's very important that your PSU does not fail, as damage to other components may occur.

If your motherboard has a PCI Express x16 slot, which most within the last few years do, then yes
You'll need to upgrade your power supply though to 400-500 watts

Yes it will work fine as long as you have a PCI express Card slot and enough room in the case... even on a 300w psu
See if the Palit 512Mb version is cheaper though, no difference in speed to a 1Gb version.
If it is unstable during gaming upgrade psu to 400w.
