Which automotive stores have the best prices?
I have three stores in my neighborhood and I've seen a few others nearby. There's Pep Boys, Autozone, Carquest, O'Reillys and two others. I was wondering in your experience, which ones have low prices and which ones have high prices? I'm just going to buy Bondo this time, but in the long run, I just want to shop at a store with reasonable prices.
I think two of the others are Napa and Advanced

Wallmart has excellent prices for air filters, I found my air filter $6 cheaper than O Reilly's , Wall mart might not have the best selection ,but the prices are right on. The best on line store for parts is Rock Auto.com by far.

Good question, I've actually built spread sheets and research this because of my interest in buying or starting an automotive repair and parts related business. The low price boys are generally considered Pep Boys, Autozone and Checker. Napa is generally the highest but not enough to be too bad. The others are mid range. Bondo is bondo. Buy it where it is the cheapest. The difference is in parts. Most of these guys have a premium and an economy line of parts. And they aren't all equal at their definition of quality. NAPA premium stuff is generally considered the best (other than OEM) or most dependable, but they have a less expensive line too. My experience with the el cheapo parts is horrible. ( e.g., Taking alternators back 3 times to get a good one at Autozone. Brake pads that last only 10,000 miles at Pep Boys. And on, and on.) .You a lot of time get what you pay for in non-commodity parts. Pennzoil is Pennzoil. But a remanufactured starter from NAPA is way better than a rebuilt one from Checker. The mid range guys like Carquest and O'reilly's ain't bad. I use Oreilly's a lot because they have a great online catalog, but so do NAPA and Autozone's ain't bad. Pep Boys and Carquest are very limited in what you can find out online. You pretty much can see their sales ads, but you can't look up a tie rod end for your F150. At the end of the day, you are often getting what you pay for. If I got to spend a half a day on my back putting a part in,, I don't want to do it twice, so I go to NAPA, then Oreilly's if Napa ain't got it. If I'm changing oil, I'll buy it where cheapest. But the WIX filters that NAPA sells as it's house brand is way better than Fram at Oreilly's, which is still better than the Oreilly's house brand.. Don't believe me? Get one of each and look at them. Cut them apart. So it goes.

No one answer. I buy ALOT of parts from local parts stores plus online retailers
You really have to shop around for best price. Napa and carquest is higher but most times has better parts.
Auto zone, advance, pep boys, O'Reillys will be all close but 1 will be cheaper on this part, but higher on that other part.
I use their online websites with my zip code put in and check prices at all 4 or 5 stores for each item I need
Pricing is strange really. Advance vs Auto zone. Advance was 20% cheaper on an alt. I needed but 28% higher than auto zone on a starter I needed.

Pep Boys generally has the best prices in my experience. NAPA thinks their products are gold-plated, Auto Zone is about the same or maybe a little more than Pep Boys. But I have a Pep Boys rewards card, which gets me lots of discounts and coupons, so that is what tips the scale toward Pep Boys for me. Plus the fact that they are less than a quarter mile from my house, which makes it really convenient when my car is dead or up on jacks and I need parts for it. And they have service bays. They always seem to have the parts I need, which is not the case for Auto Zone or Kragen.

I've found the best prices in general for oil are at Advance. Usually I'll buy 5 qts of synthetic oil with a filter for $25 to $27 on sale. That's about as good as I've seen. We have Advance, Autozone, and Pep Boys. I honestly don't shop at them that much though.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com/
It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
