Does One remember big hair girl groups from the early 60s?
Take a look at the hair on the kids in the audience & also the dancers. Shindig had free aftn variety shows live on TV. Now its all talk shows. I loved the girl groups back then.

Thanks this was great. The memories are wonderful... That was the style and of course if your hair was not long enough or full enough we bought FALLS...
The boots, the pants suits, the hot pants, the dances such as the jerk, the monkey, the chacha, the twist, the pony, the lindy etc. we went steady with a guy. we wore rollers in our hair. LOL
I loved all the girls groups with big hair...The thing that is funny today is that we all looked the same.
We had lots of fun and followed these performers. The lyrics were about love and the language was clean, not vulgar...well, I am going to go through my photo albums of yesteryear.
Thanks again for the memories.

Hi, What is "Nick and Guy Flint' mean and why the photo of the young hunk? Now your view pulse says you are 29 and according to my calculations that means you were born in 1982. Why are you talking about the 50s and the 60s? I was 7 in 1950 and was 17 in 1960 - see I can still do my maths. Sorry buddy I cannot remember when "all the girls" had spiked hair and tattoos. They didn't where I grew up - sure, there was a ratbag fringe element that were reacting to 'the establisment' But there has always been in every generation people who tried to find themselves by reacting. As regards "where most of the girls claimed they were virgins and were not' ..... nope never heard that at all. Though I would not have been surprised if there were some who fell into that category. So what point are you trying to make? And what is your real age and where did you grow up? Must have been a wild place if the 'majority' were like you described. regards MGD 291011

Yes, how could you forget? Especially the "beehive" hair style. They looked good back in the day but I must say they look kind of "dumb" to me when I see them today. Funny how styles change over the years huh? It's fun, though, to get the old pictures out and take a look once in awhile.

What a great song. And performed in "Dirty Dancing" to top it all.I remember the Shindig very well.
Don't forget The Crystals.I think most female performers had big hair at the time.

Sure! I was actually one of those big hair girls.in the audience. But your video of the Ronettes wasn't the worst of them. You should have used something like The Supremes...

Ha, ha, ha...I'm from the big hair days. My friends and I all had big hair. If I can find all my pictures, I'll throw them away. That is for sure.

teased hair, little bows for accent, tons of hair spray and pink lipstick. Our guys didn't mind that they couldn't run their fingers through our hair, they'd have lost their hand in the tangle. And, all that dipity doo. A must to keep the style all day. thanks for the memory.
