Can you please help me identify a children's book?
My son and I sat down and read a children's book at the library in 2004 it was about a teddy bear I think 2 of them and they went on a picnic in the park and if I remember right pretended to go to outer space in the trash can. Can anyone help me. I do remember reading the back page and the illustrator was Japanese, but the author was American. I just loved this book but lost the title when I accidentally threw it out. Please help if you even have an idea of the name or author. Thanks so much.

Could it be "Teddy Bears' Picnic"?
If not, how about "The Berenstain Bears: The Bears' Picnic"?
Don't think either of those have anything to do with outer space in a trash can, though, or a Japanese illustrator. Sorry.
The only other teddy bear story I can think of is Corduroy, but I don't remember him ever going on a picnic.
