First Nations (Hurons/Wendat) Debate?

We are doing a First Nations project on the Hurons (also called Wendat). For the project presentation we are doing a debate, concerning both their history (such as contact with the French and fur trade, and wars with Iroquoian tribes) and the modern problems these aboriginals have faced. What can be some debating topics and ideas we could work on?

An idea could be what was the determining factor in the population decline of the Hurons, such as diseases, warfare, starvation, etc. or how the French affected the Hurons (such as trade) positively or negatively. But I need to expand more on these...
