why do some people think or not see that the "Free ride" is broke?
when the system is broke, the workers who are private sector are dwindling, wages aren't keeping up with demand and unions wont budge on inflated expectations based on false information or hopes of the government. My own family is guilty of a "take" mentality. I myself have had to ride life's roller coaster many times. my pay has gone from just above minimum to nicely comfortable then seesawed around for years. I however believe in hard work and dependability plus keeping educated in my skills. I can't understand setting at home taking in so little a flat tire is a budget breaker.
cj I definitely feel your plight. what minimal raise we received in the last year was eaten alive by inflation. Our government is writing checks that have NO cash to cover, like writing a check for a bounced check.

I agree with you. But for many the 'free ride' ISN'T over. Illegal Mexican immigrants absolutely LOVE welfare, SSI, and DSHS food stamps. Some Americans LOVE welfare too and some LOVE the endless unemployment benefit extensions. The system IS broken and is not sustainable as it stands, but somehow it's limping along. It's almost out of gas though. Reforms are right around the corner for DSHS. They're already starting to cut back medical benefits for example.
I personally haven't had a raise in a few years, but my rent goes up every year and so do food prices. I have cut all the luxuries I can out of my life (except for internet access) - there's nothing left to cut. I never (or VERY rarely) eat out anymore - I just don't have that disposable income. Guess what that means? I'm not 'injecting' any money into the economy really --> businesses aren't getting any money from myself and others --> businesses lay off unneeded people --> those people don't have any disposable income --> the economic downward spiral continues.
Meanwhile Obamaman and Congress bail out private banking firms and other companies to the tune of TRILLIONS of dollars, and they also seem to be having a 'hey-day' giving MILLIONS in aid to Muslim countries. Wasn't it just last week that they were talking about giving $10 million to India with Obamaman saying 'it will create jobs in America'. Wtf ?? That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard almost ever.
I mean, I've seen some estimated figures. If all the bailout money had been distributed to taxpayers, each family would have gotten $300,000 or so - now THAT would have jump-started the economy. . . But nah, we'll just give that money to the corrupt rich people who caused this whole mess in the first place. Must be nice.
