Some tips for tequila?

I want to start trying a few drinks (Tequila Sunrise, Shady Lady, Margaritas, etc.) and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations? Favorite brands, aged or not? Favorite cocktails? Thanks!

When looking for good tequila you want something that is 100% agave. For instance Cuervo Gold is 51% agave (the minimum to make it tequila) and the rest is processed sugar. The processed stuff usually leads to a hangover and tastes sub-par, reason why you need to mix it etc.

Good tequila you really don't even need to mix it, can drink it straight.

If you do mix it I prefer to make straight margarita. Which consists of two shots of tequila, equal parts fresh lime juice and simple syrup with a splash of Cointreau.

Tequila with the worm is crap. Patron is the best, but is expensive. Cheap tequila tastes like paint thinner.
