Can you get a new high paying job after you file bankruptcy but before its discharged?
I am about to file bankruptcy and next month I am planning on starting a new job that pays around 50K/yr. Will this affect the BK?
I know the owner of the company and the BK will not affect me getting hired.

Once your case is filed, you can pretty much do anything you want with employment. Generally, if you get the job AFTER the 341 Meeting of Creditors (the trustee meeting), then it won't matter.

Make sure you have the job before you file for bankruptcy. Many companies will not hire you if you've filed bankruptcy.
But then, if you get a 50k/year job, you may not qualify for bankruptcy. You should talk with your bankruptcy attorney about how the income will affect your filing, but I filed for bankruptcy myself and I can tell you that most employers will not hire you with a bankruptcy on your credit report.
You also can't rent an apartment if you have declared bankruptcy. They will not approve you when they pull your credit report.

A job that is going to pay you more income may affect your BK. It depends on how much more, whether you are filing Chapt 07 or 13, and how much debt you have to begin with. You left out too much detail to comment any further.
The best thing to do is ask your BK lawyer since he/she has your whole financial picture.
