What are the differences between Laptops and Notebooks?
I have a Dell M140 that's about to die. I'm really liking the compactness of the notebook computers, but heard they aren't as powerful as full blown laptops. Can anyone explain the difference between the two? I use my computer mainly for browsing the internet.

Notebooks, and Laptops are different terms for the same thing. It seems like you are thinking netbook, which is a very small laptop with a 10 or less inch screen, less processing power and memory, and good battery life. They are good because they are really portable, and can handle all basic tasks. They are not so good because they lack the power to really be considered a good all in one computer.

Laptops are generally designed to replace a dektop computer, where as notebooks are designed for mobility and battery charge life, at the expense of performance.

The terms are inter-changable.
What matters is up to personal preference, such as screen size, memory, CPU and hard drive etc.
