Hi
cot(10) + tan(5)
= 1/tan(2*5) + tan(5)
= 1/{2tan(5)/[1 - tan^2(5)]} + tan(5) <--- by the double angle formula
= [1 - tan^2(5)]/[2tan(5)] + tan(5)
= [1 - tan^2(5)]/[2tan(5)] + 2tan^2(5)/[2tan(5)]
= [1 - tan^2(5) + 2tan^2(5)]/[2tan(5)]
= [1 + tan^2(5)]/[2tan(5)]
= sec^2(5)/[2tan(5)]
= sec(5)csc(5)/2
≈ -1.83816
