I got a VLSD for my 240sx from a guy, installed it, and it drives as if its a locker not an LSD. If so is there any way to safely break the welds and restore it to VLSD status, or is it screwed?

(pictures won't open) If it is welded it is trash. There is no way to save the gears if they were welded. You would have to replace all that was welded for it to work properly.

Is this VLSD welded or locked for some other reason?

I got a VLSD for my 240sx from a guy, installed it, and it drives as if its a locker not an LSD. I cracked it open, and this is what it looks like inside.

If it is welded it is trash. There is no way to save the gears if they were welded. You would have to replace all that was welded for it to work properly.
