Gruesome parts of the Bible?
What are some gruesome parts of the Bible? About rape or murder or anything of the like. For example, Ezekiel 23:20. Preferrably something about sodomy, because that's my favorite subject, but any disturbing part will do.

The Bible refers to eating children in several places. Examples are:
Leviticus 26:29 - And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
Deuteronomy 28:53 - And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters.
Jeremiah 19:9 - And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend. --
2 Kings 6:28-29 describes the desperation of people when there is famine and who can't do anything about it because they're under siege. But it might also be a way of demonising non-Israelites, in this case Samaritans. The reason for the cannibalism is given at verses 8 and 25 : "Then the king of Syria warred against Israel...And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until a donkey's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver". It goes on (after verse 30) "when the king (of the Israelites) heard the words of the woman, ... he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh." And the explanation at verse 33 is "Behold, this evil is of the LORD".
The command to worship one God, to the exclusion of all others under pain of death, seems to have been a reflection of uniting a people within their social structure and enmity against other peoples who might compete for, or already possess, desired land and resources, and justification for their genocide related in several places in the Bible such as Numbers 31:17-18 "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves".

You ever read a John Saul book? How about Cormac McCarthy's The Road? Try just some good ol Stephen King. The Bible is written for real people about real people and human nature. Everything good about us comes from God and all things that are gruesome and evil come from ourselves. When we behave or make choices that are against God's laws...He withdraws from us and leaves us to our own nature and that is most disturbing. You hunger after pig food because you don't know any better. Like the Prodigal Son though maybe someday you will see that you can do much better. By seeing the contrast of our nature as selfish, appetite driven animals against the transformation into pure innocent and loving children you see the extremes in what we are capable of. If those horrors and atrocities had not been written of in the Word of God and brought into light...they would have been conspicuous by their very absence because the same filth, sin and destruction of human nature exists today just like it did back then. It only change individual by individual as God takes each one of His own and creates in them a new life. So try looking for that beauty, that purity and that love and see if it doesn't satisfy you more. Choose life. Love in Christ, ~J~

Some of my favorites....there are so many. It is clear that the christian god is in favor of genocide and raping virgins.
"They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. ONLY THE YOUNG GIRLS WHO ARE VIRGINS MAY LIVE; YOU MAY KEEP THEM FOR YOURSELVES." Numbers 31:7-18

Life was tough back then, and it was often gruesome. Too many people blame the bible for this but it is really just because the Jewish "histories" are some of the more detailed ones written about wars and atrocities as opposed to "prettying up" histories to make them less gruesome.
In answer to your question, though, I have a few favorites when it comes to WTF.
2 Kings 2
23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. 25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

Judges 3:16-23
"16 Now Ehud had made a double-edged sword about a cubit long, which he strapped to his right thigh under his clothing. 17 He presented the tribute to Eglon king of Moab, who was a very fat man. 18 After Ehud had presented the tribute, he sent on their way those who had carried it. 19 But on reaching the stone images near Gilgal he himself went back to Eglon and said, “Your Majesty, I have a secret message for you." The king said to his attendants, “Leave us!” And they all left.
20 Ehud then approached him while he was sitting alone in the upper room of his palace and said, “I have a message from God for you.” As the king rose from his seat, 21 Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king’s belly. 22 Even the handle sank in after the blade, and his bowels discharged. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it. 23 Then Ehud went out to the porch; he shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them."

Here's some passages about killing:
Exodus 32:27-28, 35 - God kills 3000 men for dancing around Aaron's golden calf.
Numbers 16:49 - God sends a plague killing 14,700 people for complaining that he killed 250 whose offense had been that they burnt incense.
Numbers 31:1-35 - God kills over 90,000 of the midianite people including all the male children and all the females who are not virgins.
Judges 20:35 - God kills over 50,000 Benjamites for the crime of not being Israelites. He killed all the children too
And here's one about poop:
Wherefore my bowels shall sound like a harp for Moab - 1Kings 14:10
Here's one about masturbation:
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might"
Eccl 9:10
And here's another one about poop:
"Behold, I shall corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces."

The gruesom parts were the result of sin which was judged. Sin and sinners will ultimately be judged. We can escape our judgement by accepting Jesus christ as saviour because He willingly died as substitute for sinners. When we accept Him he takes our sin and transfers His righteousness to us. This is the only way to be accepted by the One Holy God. Now we are His child and belong in His eternal perfect home with him forever. I have accepted him and it works. If you are seeking the truth read the Gospel of John, The book of Acts and Genesis. To be saved you need to believe Jesus died on the cross taking the blame and the punishment for your sin and ask Him into your life. Be willing to turn from sin with His help. Now live for Him by worshipping God, learning of Him in His Word the Bible and owning Him before others. May God bless you as you seek the TRUTH. nev r

No, never. There are 2 approaches to earnings the bible.... historic-serious, as scholars learn it, and devotional, the way fundamentalist preachermen pontificate it. in case you desire to maintain your faith, in no way study it in any respect. in no way take any instructions in Early Christian background, and for constructive, in no way ask any questions of the professor. As better than one professor has pronounced, "the suitable thank you to boost into an atheist is to study the bible." So, in case you desire to stay deluded, do no longer study it.... it is crammed with the horror that god imposed on fairly everyone and each little thing.

I have found many verses in the Christian OLD testament that when compared to what it is suppose to be have been changed. It appears to have been in the dark ages; however, I am not sure of the date.
Yeshua: Of those who harm a young child that it would truly be better "... for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea Matt 18:6. 1500+ children MURDERED LOOK > http://ifamericansknew.org/
Israelites can never return to Palestine because Yahweh promised a new place, II Sam. 7:10 Most are still unsure of their Israelite identity, as a result of corrupt Doctrine from their forced renaming into Roman Christianity. Israelites worship only Yahweh the One Almighty Sovereign Creator Power of all that exists. This belief is called "Yahwism and have the same belief as Yahweh's adopted Son Yahshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
When 1000 years are completed, the slander will be freed from prison. Jews came into being 1000 years after the death of Abraham Kings 16:6 There are 12 tribes NOT 13
Jews are not Israelites or Semites; but are instead Khazars, Mongols, and Huns. Jews more closely related to Hun, Uigur, and Magyrs than to the seed of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. The are associated with Magog and Gog. They were the moneychangers and slave traders.
JEWS ARE NOT DESCENDED OF THE BIBLICAL ISRAELITES
Israeli's right to exist is not based on the covenant of Abraham with God; it is based on international law -- i.e., on the United Nations' decision of 1947. .
The Jewish Encyclopedia tells us that "Edom is in Modern Jewry".
Yahshua was NOT a Jew, he was a pure blooded member of the tribe of Judah, a true Judahite. Matthew C1 and Luke C3. Yahshua was a descendant of the patriarch Judah, through one of his twin sons Pharez, who was an ancestor of his mother Mary. He came through the line of David, and Nathan the brother of Solomon, as traced in Luke C3. Yahshua was a pure blooded Israelite of the tribe of Judah as Paul tells in Romans I: 3.
Edomites had control of the temple and power to enforce all their local laws. John 18:31
Edomites stated that Yahshua was an ancestor of theirs through Esau. John 8:33; however, the Hebrew blood, through Esau, had been diluted by 1700 years of marrying the people of Canaanite racial stock. Yahshua rebuked them for their false claim to the Abraham lineage Israelites. John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth because there is not truth in him." John 8:31-47. These were the Jews to whom Yahshua was speaking, and the Bible identifies them as Jews.
Persia is Iran Daniel 10:15-21

Abraham had 2 sons. Ishmael (Arab) by a slave woman and Isaac (Israelites). There are 12 tribes not 13.
