I am buying a car from a dealer tomorrow. The car does not have dealer plate but regular plate.
What documents he should provide me once money transaction takes place? He mentioned he ll take care of title transfer etc with in 20 days. What ll be my proof of ownership until then?

You should get a bill of sale or a buyers order with all the car info on it. That will act as temporary registration until the state transfers registration to you. You should also get an odometer statement, a title reassignment form, and some other docs.
