Subaru Legacy rear main seal?

The rear main seal needs to be replaced in my Subaru Legacy. The car has an automatic transmission and is also AWD. Is it easier to pull the engine in these cars to replace the rear seal or take the transmission out ? I am wondering since the AWD looks to be a bear to take out.

If harm led to some thing to hit the front of the motor , it could have . it would ought to of hit it tricky adequate on the decrease pulley that's bolted to the crankshaft . that should reason crank to perform a little harm on the rear substantial . One question tho - is it certainly coming from seal or ought to it have tweaked oil pan ? do no longer have confidence an oil substitute place as maximum of them are no longer mechanics . Have it regarded at at a good save .

  • given that it is an all wheel drive car, i would have to say that it should be easier to pull the engine out alone.
