It's about a dead cop becoming the grim reaper's apprentice and fighting huge freaking ghosts (as well as crazy exorcists and shady agent-type people).

You could write a series of short stories and use the name of the cop... much like using Harry Potter as a franchise of books... and then could go on to say 'and the' because I'm sure that there will be more than one type of person they are going to be fighting so a collection of short stories might be better than going in for the whole novel.
I'm not sure what type of title you are wanting, whether it be cheap and cheesy or elegant and powerful, such as one word in a different language, perhaps Greek or Latin.
