Christians: The Noah's Ark flood never happened?

According to the Bible, the big flood that God conjured up that lasted for 40 days and 40 nights supposedly covered Mount Everest. But, archaeological records say that this never happened. Why is the Bible telling a lie?

    >>>The Noah's Ark flood never happened?<<<

Is this a statement or a question?

Let's assume you have asked a question since this is the format for Yahoo-Answers.......The answer would be yes it did happen.

    >>>Why is the Bible telling a lie?<<<

The Bible is not telling a lie ......so there is no need to answer this part of the question.

Fossils have been found on top of Mount Everest.......

It tells many lies. It's just a big con game, like all religions. The goal is to make preachers rich and powerful. The Deluge is one of the most transparent lies in the Bible. Like so much of the Bible, it copies earlier myths. In this case, the Sumerian myth of Utnapishtim was the earliest world flood myth, and the Bible copied it badly.

This is one bible story that has been totally demolished. First--the bible story wasn't original--it was taken from the much older sumerian epic of gilgamesh. Second, as any first year student in oceanography will tell you--there are over 80,000 core samples taken from the deep ocean from all the worlds major bodies of water. The flood story postulates a global flood. Thus there would be a layer of detritus (rocks, pebbles, boulders, organic matter) in a layer at the bottom of every ocean and body of water in the world that all dated to the same date. Because the cores are taken from the ocean deeps they are undisturbed by weather since they accumulated. Analysis of these core samples tell us that there was NO GLOBAL FLOOD, NO LAYER OF DETRITUS DATING TO A COMMON DATE. Oceanic core samples can tell us that volcano's erupted 15,000 years ago and which one erupted--they tell us about meteor impacts that had global ramifications--they tell us about massive changes in climate--BUT FOR YOU POOR FUNDIES--YOUR FLOOD STORY HAS BEEN TOTALLY AND IRREVOCABLY REFUTED-IT IS UNTRUE.

The Bible uses examples to make points. They weren't meant to be true historical records, but to be fables or allegories to teach lessons. The fable of "The boy who cried wolf" didn't have to actually happen - it's just a story people tell to teach their children not to lie. Many events in the Bible are factually and historically correct, but many are simply fables meant to teach us all a lesson or a point. Remember, the Bible is meant to be taken as a whole - a message about God's love. It wasn't meant to be a text book or a history book.

The Bible is not telling a lie; it only wants to confuse and trip YOU.

Incidentally, it wasn't Mt. Everest, it was Mt. Ararat in present day Turkey.

The BIG LIE is what you are espousing. Evidence for the flood is around you. Open your eyes and see!

This is where faith come in...faith that what the Bible says is true...

After all, God is responsible for geology...

And seashells have been found on mountaintops...

Maybe it is the archaeologists who are lying. (or just plain deceived)
