Will Waity Katey wear a virginal white dress when she sails down the aisle?

White is the traditional colour for a virgin on her marriage - although I realise that it does not apply to many of today's brides. However as a future (possibly) Queen is it not ridiculous for her to pretend she is pure when she has been sleeping with William for many years? A quiet registry wedding would surely be more appropriate?

A very good question. Personally, I don't care what she wears or doesn't wear, as long as we taxpayers have to cough up loads more money to pay for the Royal Family's high living regardless of the Second Great Depression.

Whether she's a virgin or not I don't think that should be the question on the bride to be. She is a wonderful young woman that I haven't seen since the day Lady Diana entered the scene.

Most women of today would give up their man if they were to wait as long as she did, this only shows to the world that Kate is a woman of patience and understanding. If her future MIL were alive today, she would be very proud of her son William in the choice of wife.

As far as what choice a bride makes for their wedding dress, I think white is over rated. It would be nice to see white with red print or a pastel floral print for a change

Congrats to the Royal Family of Great Britain

No, contrary to popular belief, the white color of wedding dresses is not and was not intended to be a comment on the bride's sexual status. It is merely traditional and customary, stemming from a fashion trend that got started in the early 19th century, when Queen Victoria chose white for her wedding. For many long centuries before that particular royal wedding, brides only occasionally wore white. It wasn't practical, since wedding dresses were usually intended to be worn again. Brides normally chose whatever color they liked, or if they couldn't afford a new dress -- as many could not -- they wore the best dress they owned.

Today, as I know you know, brides habitually wear white, or some variation thereof, merely because it is customary, not because they are trying to make a statement about whether they are virgo intacta. Polite, well-raised people never comment on the bride's virginity or presumed sexual history anyway. Doing so is considered a sign of extraordinarily bad manners and a poor upbringing at the hands of parents who themselves know nothing about etiquette.

On the other hand, well-raised people display a supreme lack of interest in both the bride's and the groom's sex lives, which they know are none of their business.

Carlita, Diana never underwent a medical test or examination to confirm her virginity. That was a mere, though oft-repeated, media rumor, and it wasn't true.

Even when Charles married Diana it was thought old-fashioned for him to have to marry a virgin (as Diana apparently was). Why do people expect the Royals to have higher morals than non-Royals? I'm sure her dress will be white but let's be honest most first-time brides who wear white are probably not virgins.

Also nobody checked that Diana was a virgin.

To call her "Waity Katey" is also wrong as she's now engaged, it referred to her waiting for William to pop the question.

White symbolizes newness...as in the marriage will be a new life for them.

    My aren't you judgmental?

Point of fact: Diana was never "tested" in any way. Her father stepped up and vouched for her innocence. It was a big deal. I don't understand why so many people believe they went through with that. They never did. Check the history.

Well, since most other brides who wear white aren't virgins, what difference does it make? it's a dead rule. Guess they can't do the "test" of virginity that they did on Diana, either. She had to be "inspected" by the Royal GYN to make sure she was intact. So ridiculous!

It was a long courtship. We have no idea what was happening behind the scenes, and Kate certainly wasn't talking.

William will take her up the aisle as he has no doubt practised many times.. When they are married they will walk down the aisle.

    How rude!

I am truely happy for William, and cant wait for their wedding - maybe you should stop being jealous, and mind your own business!!

Maybe you should ask her hymen.
