Creative ideas for a hanging mobile?

Question

So I have to build a hanging mobile for my physics class and it has to be really creative. We saw this one in class that was like a hanging chess board with the little pieces and everything and it was really cool. I want something cool and artistic like that, but I can't think of anything. I don't want just random shapes like Calder's mobiles, but like a theme or object mobile. I was thinking of ways to spice up an origami crane mobile because I just don't want to use a whole bunch of the same cranes. I like origami and microbiology stuff though. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

If you like microbiology and origami then I have the perfect solution, mutant cranes!

Make the crane mobile however use both regular cranes and mutant ones with multiple heads, tails and what not.

This one in particular is one of my favourite things to fold, it's a paper crane with three heads and three tails and it's pretty easy to fold.  If you can fold a regular crane you should have no problem.

So try those out, combine these four mutant cranes with the regular traditional crane and you've got five different looking models for your mobile based around a mutation theme.

A cool idea could be acrobats like a circus thing, or another can be like the sea, with sea animals.
