Steve Gutenberg's work made him a star...perhaps you are too young, or just haven't reviewed his work...or don't care for the man's work...but he is a talent, albeit he hasn't been producing much of late.
A star's work is usually based upon a lifetime of work, if he/she is lucky, and there are some stars who don't work for decades and then come back and wow us again.
An example of one who took years off from the movies and is now coming out to rave reviews is Cher, the singer.
She has a movie that opens soon, perhaps as early as tonight, and critics are raving...and when she was in "Moonstruck" at least 20 years ago, she was MAGNIFICENT!
So don't count Steve Gutenberg out....I can assure you he's not eating out of garbage cans, though he isn't on a weekly TV show or the hottest movie of the season.
