Has anyone been to South Korea?
I was considering a 4-5 day trip to South Korea with friends in February. I'd appreciate it if someone there or who's been there would give me some pointers on what to see and do there. Thnx.

You could set aside 1 day to take the SEOUL tour bus which brings you around to all the main tourist attractions in Seoul. It will only cost you 10,000 won for a whole day. You could always enquire about extending it to the night service as well . ^^
Shopping @ Myeongdong and Dongdaemun are good.
Not the cheapest of things , but reasonable .
Namedaemun is love if you are looking for unconventional things like chopsticks and souvenirs.
Places you have to visit will include Hangang , Seoul Tower , Cheongyecheon .
Things you must eat will be Kimchi jiggae , BBQ , Bimbimpbap , Dokkbukki and Kimbab .
.
You can go to Lotte World @ Jamsil as well .
Its an amusement park within the shopping mall

Try this tourism website http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/index.kto. Travel by train from Seoul to Gyeongju at night if available (http://info.korail.com/2007/eng/eng_index.jsp) that takes about 6 hours. 2 days would be sufficient for Gyeongju visit.
In Seoul, there are many palaces with beautiful garden to visit like Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, Gyeongbukgung. http://www.planet.my/search/label/Korea%3A%20Seoul... You should visit to N Seoul Tower too
At Gyeongju, you can join the local tour to the tourist places like Bulguksa, Seokguram Grotto temple..

You can go on your own to Gyeongju downtown tourist area like Anapji Pond, Cheomseongdae, Bunhwangsa Temple.. http://www.planet.my/search/label/Korea%3A%20Gyeon...
If you have enough time, you may visit to the Folk Village at Suwon, by bus from Seoul or join the DMZ guided tours to Korea South North Border

theres this guy named Hyunwoo Sun, and he has a website which teaches korean language and culture...i think its something like Talk to me in Korean (search it up..its the first link) and his youtube channel is ever4one...you can send him a message because i've heard that he's often met up with foreigners to help them around and he speaks flawless english too. As long as you notify him beforehand he can probably help you around for a bit.
