What is the name of this fruit?

in fruit ninja the purple fruit... the inside is yellow with black dots. it has a small stem

    sounds like passionfruit. the black dots are seeds (which are edible) the skin is quite tough and have to cut with knife and spoon out the pulp inside. they taste yum and great over fruit salad or cheesecake.
