Homemade toys for hamsters?

My hamster cage is pretty big, but its quite empty. All she has is a hamster ball, and her food and water bowl. What toys can I make for her?

    Toilet roll tubes.

Save up several small boxes, such as tooth paste boxes, and put them all inside the other. Hide treats in numerous boxes; your hamster will be able to smell the treats but will have to chew through to get them. Fun and stimulating, works in a similar way to pass the parcel :)

Buy a bird-toy-making-kit! You know you can buy those wooden beads that are safe for parrots and stuff? Well, they're safe for rodents too! Buy a pack of them and string them all together, tying them in a horrizontal line to the cage bars, then hides bits of treats in the middle of the beads and watch your hamster try and sniff them out!

Also, rip kitchen or toilet roll into strips. Put them in a bowl and add water....hey presto, a pet safe papier mache! Mould it into something for your pet to chew or sleep in, whatever. Be warned it can take weeks to dry, so you might want to speed it up by putting it in the oven at a low temp :)

    Enjoy!

You can stuff toilet paper rolls with newspaper, or hamster bedding from the store, and she can chew on/crawl through that.

Take a tiny cardboard box and put a few treats inside. She can chew through the box and get a little reward :)

Small natural pieces of wood to chew on.

Rip up newspaper, or cotton balls for her to use as bedding.

Maybe you can make a little tunnel for it to run through but make sure the hamster has enough space for it to run through. And try making it out of paper. If that doesn'tt work im really sorry.
