I reinstalled Windows and now can't connect to the internet?
My system worked fine but I reinstalled Windows and when I attempted to reinstall the software for my DSL modem I got an error message. In control panel I have the yellow question mark next to Ethernet Controller. Can I fix this by installing a new driver?
I'm reinstalling the modem software because I did a total Windows renstall. I don't know what happened to the Ethernet Controller driver...It disappeared.

Yep. You need to go to your manufacturers website and download the Ethernet, or LAN driver, depending on how they have it listed. Easiest way is to get a USB thumb drive, and a friends computer, go to the website of the PC manufacturer, like Dell or HP, find Drivers and Downloads, usually under the support section, search for your particular model, then get the Ethernet/LAN drivers. Take the files to your PC, and install them, and you should be good to go.

If your computer has an Ethernet controller, why are you trying to reinstall the software for your DSL modem? Yes, you need to install the drivers for the Ethernet controller. You don't need to do anything to the DSL modem.
Update: Reinstalling Windows has no effect on your DSL modem. There is no reason you should need to reinstall it. What Ethernet controller (or motherboard) do you have?
