Poll for Christians: if a Christian does not believe in creationism, are they a "true" Christian?

I've heard many people say that's the case, so I'm taking a poll!

It is my OPINION that belief in evolution undermines the credibility of the book of Genesis. I am an unapologetic fundamentalist Christian who accepts a literal view of Genesis.

Now that I've said that, I know of nowhere in scripture it states that we must all agree on Genesis in order to obtain salvation. To the contrary: Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

  • Depends on your definition of creationism.

If by creationism you mean the belief that God created the heavens and the Earth through whatever means, then yes, that is a requirement to be a Christian.

However, if by creationism you mean that a Christian must take Genesis 100% literally and believe that God created the Earth in six literal days less than 10,000 years ago and believe that evolution is 100% false, no, that is not a requirement. In my opinion.

I'm a Christian, I don't take the creation account literally, and I accept evolution. I have no problems reconciling scientific theories with the Bible. I don't believe it makes me less of a believer.

Rainbows did not exist here on earth until finally there have been adequate Water Molecules interior the ambience to bend the image voltaic right into a Rainbow. Plus this is trouble-free medical understanding that Earth did not consistently have water on it. So theoretically if the ambience before the Flood did not have adequate water in it to offer a Rainbow seen to the Human Eye, and the water that led to the Flood became into presented to Earth by utilising Comets, there might then be adequate water to offer a seen Rainbow.

  • As a Christian who not only accepts evolution but spends his days in a genome lab studying it I say of course. No one but God decides who is a true Christian.

Why do people think science can explain the origin of life? It can't, and many reputable scientists acknowledge that.

OK, look, God said 'I created the earth...' and then continued to explain how. Either you hear Him and believe or you are calling Him a liar.

I'm not sure. My take is that God DID create the universe. How He went about it, I have no idea.
